Sadie Gale

Sadie Gale (born March 31, 1902 in Sydney , † June 20, 1997 ibid) was an Australian entertainer and actress.

Life

The daughter of the singer and entertainer Sam Gale and the variety artist Myra James accompanied her parents on their tours from early childhood and stood with them on stage when they were three or four years old. At the Theater Royal at Charters Towers, she appeared with her father in 1905 as Sam Gale and Little Sadie (later simply Gale and Sadie ) with Will Wallace 's Waxworks and Vaudeville Company . Between 1906 and 1912 the Gales toured under the management of James Cassius Williamson , Ted Holland , James Brennan and others, from 1912 they worked for the new company of Ben Fuller and James Brennan in Sydney.

The successful collaboration between Sam Gale and Sady ended when he was killed in an accident in 1912. The Australian Vaudeville Artists' Federation held then at the initiative of George Sorlie a benefit concert for the family, on which Grace Palotta , not Jack Can and Vera Pearce involved. In 1913, Sadie performed with her mother at the National Amphitheater under the direction of Ben Fuller .

She joined George Stevenson Wallace 's Revusical Company until she married Roy Rene in 1929 . She worked with him until the early 1950s. In 1931 their son Sam Van-der Sluice was born, who became known as an actor, radio and television producer.
