Peeter Kreitzberg
Peeter Kreitzberg (born December 14, 1948 in Pärnu ; † November 3, 2011 in Beijing ) was an Estonian educator and politician. In 1995 Kreitzberg was Minister of Culture and Education of the Republic of Estonia.

Peeter Kreitzberg graduated from school in Rakvere in 1967 . In 1972 he got his degree in the subject mathematics at the State University of Tartu . In 1978 he finished in Leningrad his postgraduate as a candidate in professional education from. From 1988 to 1992 he did his PhD at the University of Tartu. In 1993 he made his Dr. phil. at the university in Lund, Sweden . From 1977 until his death Kreitzberg taught at the universities of Tartu and Tallinn , from 1997 with the title of professor.
politics
After Estonian independence was regained, Kreitzberg became politically active. From 1994 to 2004 he was a member of the Center Party ( Keskerakond ) . In 2005 he joined the Estonian Social Democrats .
From April to November 1995 Peeter Kreitzberg was Minister of Culture and Education in the coalition government under Prime Minister Tiit Vähi . From 1996 to 1999 he was Deputy Mayor of the Estonian capital Tallinn . From 1999 to 2011 Kreitzberg was a member of the Estonian Parliament ( Riigikogu ) . From 2001 to 2005 Kreitzberg was Deputy President of Parliament. He ran for the Center Party in vain in the 2001 election of the President .
Personal
Peeter Kreitzberg died in November 2011 on a parliamentary trip to the People's Republic of China at the age of 62. He had two daughters and a son.
