The Sagoskin Island ( Russian Остров Загоскина Ostrow Sagoskina ) is an island off the Ruppert coast of the West Antarctic Marie Byrd Land . It is located west of Newman Island in the Nickerson Ice Shelf .
Russian scientists named them. The namesake is not known. An obvious namesake is the Russian explorer Lavrenti Alexejewitsch Sagoskin (1808–1890).
