Saharsa ( Hindi सहरसा ) is a city in the Indian state of Bihar .
Saharsa is located in the north Indian plain 65 km from the Nepalese border. The Koshi flows 14 km west of the city in a southerly direction. Saharsa is 150 km east-northeast of Patna. The city is the administrative seat of the district of the same name , has the status of Nagar Parishad and is divided into 41 wards . In the 2011 census, the population was around 156,000.
