Sahibganj is a city in the Indian state of Jharkhand . The city is the northernmost in Jharkhand and is close to the border with Bihar.
The city is the capital of the Sahibganj district of the same name . Godda is administered as a Nagar Parishad . The city is divided into 28 wards (constituencies).
Demographics
The city's population is 88,214 according to the 2011 census. Sahibganj has a gender ratio of 899 women per 1000 men and thus a common surplus of men for India. The literacy rate was 79.2% in 2011. Almost 82% of the population are Hindus , approx. 17% are Muslim and approx. 1% belong to another or no religion. 13.9% of the population are children under 6 years of age.
Infrastructure
The city is connected to the rest of the country by a train station. The city is also on the historic Grand Trunk Road .
