Saimaan Pallo , SaiPa for short , is a Finnish ice hockey club from Lappeenranta that plays in the Liiga and was founded in 1948. The team has not yet won a Finnish championship. Her greatest success was a bronze medal in the 1965/66 season, when the SM-liiga did not yet exist. The team plays their home games in the Kisapuisto .
The team is owned by Liiga-SaiPa Oy and NHL goalkeeper Jussi Markkanen , who played for SaiPa early in his career.
