Prince Said Mohamed Jaffar ( Said Mohamed Jaffar El Amjad ; Arabic سعيد محمد جعفر; born April 14, 1917 or April 14, 2018 ; died October 22, 1993 ) was a Comorian politician. He was the second President of the Comoros in the État Comorien (August 1975 – January 1976), and Chief Minister of the Government from July to December 1972.

On August 3, 1975, a coalition of six parties, the United National Front , overthrew Ahmed Abdallah's government with the help of mercenaries led by Bob Denard .

Said Mohamed Jaffar took a conciliatory approach to France and the Mayotte conflict . He gave a speech to recognize the state of the Comoros, État Comorien , at the United Nations in November 1975. In January 1976, Jaffar had to hand over power to the radical left Ali Soilih .

He went into exile in France, where he was elected to the French Senate in 1973 .

Said Mohamed Jaffar was the uncle of Said Atthoumani , who ruled briefly after a coup d'état after Ali Soilih was deposed in May 1978.
