Saint Anne Sandy Point is one of 14 administrative parishes that make up Saint Kitts and Nevis . It is the smallest municipality in terms of area, with only 13 square kilometers and is located on the main island of St. Kitts . The capital of the parish is Sandy Point Town .
geography
The shape of the church itself is triangular. The municipality's coastline, dominated by black sand beaches such as Pump Bay and Belle Tête, the southern coast, with steep cliffs to the north. The lower slopes of the community are dominated by abandoned sugar cane fields, numerous small businesses and fruit plantations. Further east inland, the terrain changes, from gently sloping coastal plains to steep mountains in the northwest area, which are more than 1000 meters above sea level and are draped with tropical forests.
Cranston Ghaut marks the northern limit of the parish, while Sandy Point Ghaut (a poorly defined gorge near Brimstone Hill Road) marks the southern limit.
The capital of the parish is Sandy Point Town , the second largest settlement, with a population of approximately 3,000. The city is located on the south coast of the parish. The other settlements in the municipality act as suburbs to the city. That's Fig Tree, La Vallée, and Sir Gillee's. Abandoned properties characterize the inland area.
economy
Sandy Point is home to a small Harowe Servo Controls factory that makes electrical equipment. Despite its small size, it is the largest employer in the parish, and the largest industrial area outside of Saint George Basseterre Parish. Tourism is the other major employer for the community. In addition to its exciting history, the community also attracts visitors with the Sandy Point National Marine Park, west of Sandy Point Town, which is considered to be one of the best dive sites in the Eastern Caribbean.
