Sak Prasert

Sak Prasert (Oui or Wi, Prince [ Sadet Chao ] Chao Saktiprasartha; * 1882 in Champasak ; † 1966 ) was a senior official in the Thai Ministry of the Interior (at the time Siam), governor of Chiang Mai Province and from 1948 to 1955 a member of the Supreme Council of Laos . In 1915, Sak Prasert received from King Rama VI. the family name na Champasakti (about "from Champasak") assigned.

Life

Sak Prasert was the third son of the viceroy of Champasak , Kham Souk (r. 1862 to 1900), and his wife Kutmayi. He was trained at the Lycée Chasseloup-Laubat in Saigon and entered the Siamese civil service in 1897 . In the Ministry of the Interior, he served in Phitsanulok (1900-1901) and then as Administrator of Champasak (1901-1902). After the end of the principality in 1904, he moved entirely to Siam and continued his career in the Interior Ministry. From 1906 to 1907 he worked in Monthon Phayap (the former Lan Na ), from 1907 to 1909 he was Nai Amphoe (about district administrator) in Chiang Mai , before he was appointed Chao Mueang (governor) of Chiang Mai by King Rama V in 1909 Rai was appointed. Sak Prasert returned to Laos in 1946 and helped set up the administration. Between 1948 and 1955 he served on the Supreme Council of the Kingdom of Laos .

In 1904 Sak Prasert married Princess ( Chao Heuane ) Keava Sri Savangsa (Keo Sisavang), with whom he had nine children. In his second marriage he was married to his half-sister Princess ( Sadet Chao Heuane ) Sangavanakama (Sangvankham). From this marriage there were six children.
