The history of the brewery goes back to the year 1820, when the Baltic German landowner Count Karl Friedrich von Rehbinder (1764–1841) founded a brewery and a schnapps distillery in Saku . In 1849 the manor and brewery became the property of the Baggo family. This modernized the brewery in 1876 and expanded it into a professional operation.
