Sal Franzella
Salvador "Sal" Franzella Jr. (born April 25, 1915 in New Orleans , † November 8, 1968 ) was an American jazz musician ( woodwind instruments ).
Franzella worked for Louis Prima around 1937 , with whom he went on tour. In New York and Los Angeles he performed as a studio musician a. a. with Jack Teagarden , Teddy Grace and in 1958 with Frank Sinatra and the Nelson Riddle Orchestra. In 1945 he accompanied the singer Betty Thornton; In 1946 he recorded with his own quintet for the Swan label , and in 1948 the standard Yesterdays for Majestic Records . Franzella participated in 39 recording sessions between 1937 and 1956.
