Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha (born October 7, 1946 in Brunei City ; full name Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam ), born Saleha Mohamed Alam is by appointment of her husband Hassanal Boliah as Sultan of Brunei since 1967, Queen of Brunei Darussalam . She is known under the name "Queen Saleha". As "Raja Isteri" she is the first wife of the Sultan and therefore mother of the heir to the throne.

Childhood and education

Anak Saleha was born to Pengiran Anak Mohamed Alam and Pengiran Anak Besar . She enjoyed school education in the palace school of Istana Darul Hana in Brunei City (today Bandar Seri Begawan). She completed her further training until 1965 at the royal school "Sekolah Tinggi Perempuan Raja Isteri".

Marriage and offspring

Saleha married Hassanal Bolkiah , then Crown Prince of Brunei, on July 29, 1965 in an arranged marriage. She and the Sultan are direct cousins, her father and mother were siblings.

Queen Saleha and the Sultan have six children together:

tasks

As Queen of Brunei, Saleha takes on numerous social responsibilities. She is the chairman of numerous women's organizations and is primarily committed to promoting women and protecting children. Nature conservation is also important to her.
