Sally Grindley

Sally Grindley (* 1953 in Kent ) is a British children's author .

Grindley devoted himself to writing as early as the 1980s . A large part of her work consists in retelling the works of historical writers such as Goethe and Aesop in a form that children can understand, and she has also published a children's Bible .

However, they invented not only to , but also new . Her international bestseller Spilled Water (German title: Das Mädchen Lu Si-yan ) was honored with the Nestlé Smarties Book Prize in gold in 2004. It is the story of a half- orphan in today's China who is sold out of poverty to a rich family.

Grindley has three sons and lives with her family near Cheltenham , England.
