The Solomon Islands dollar is the currency of the Solomon Islands . It was introduced after the independence of the Solomon Islands to replace the Australian dollar . Queen Elizabeth II , who is also Queen of the Solomon Islands, is stamped on the coins . The value of the Solomon Islands dollar has declined steadily over the past 30 years and especially during the civil war from 1999 to 2001.

The Solomon Islands dollar comes in bank notes of 2, 5, 10, 20, 40, 50 and 100 dollars, as well as coins of 5, 10, 20, 50 cents and 1 dollar. The 1 and 2 cent coins are no longer in circulation.
