The kina is the currency of Papua New Guinea . A kina is divided into 100 toeas (abbreviation:  t ). The name Kina is derived from the Kina mussels , which have always been the traditional currency in the highlands of New Guinea .

Shell money

The name fathom is derived from the English word for "thread", which is also a nautical measure of length and corresponds to 1.8288 meters. An English Fathom is roughly equivalent to a German fathoms .
