Salvador García (athlete)

Salvador García ( Salvador García Melchor ; born November 1, 1962 ) is a retired Mexican marathon runner .

In 1988 he finished second in the Houston Marathon in 2:11:50 h, and the following year he was Central America and Caribbean champion in the half marathon .

In 1990 he finished second in the New York City Marathon in 2:13:19, which he won a year later in 2:09:28.

In 1992 he won the Rotterdam Marathon in his personal best of 2:09:16. His international career came to an end with a tenth place in New York in 1995.
