Salvatore Pinna (* 23. August 1975 in Sorso ) is an Italian football - goalkeeper , who since the summer of 2009 at Pescara Calcio in Serie B is under contract.

Career

Salvatore Pinna started his career in the youth team of Sorso Calcio . He left the club in 1994 without having played a single game for the professional team and joined the Serie D club Castelsardo Calcio . Pinna quickly established himself as the goalkeeper of the Sardinian club and played a total of 131 league games for Castelsardo in four years. In 1998 he moved to the fourth division ASD Torres Calcio . After he only acted as a substitute goalkeeper in the first two years, he was able to fight for a regular place in the goal of the Sassarese in the 2000/01 season and defend the position as a top performer in the following years.

The goalkeeper managed to stay in the third-highest Italian league for six years in a row with the club, which had meanwhile been promoted to Serie C1 . After the 2005/06 season, in the Pinna with the ASD Torres Calcio on sporty way to maintain the league, the club was excluded from the game operation of the C1 series due to its financial difficulties and finally classified one league lower. The goalkeeper decided to leave the club after eight years of service and sign a contract with Taranto Sport . After 17 games for Taranto, he went to league rivals US Grosseto in January 2007 . But it didn't last long at Grosseto either and after only six months his next stop was the transfer to Salernitana Calcio .

At Salernitana he found his way back to success and made promotion to Serie B with the team in his first season . Pinna received only 23 goals in 32 series C1 games and thus contributed to the success of the team. In the 2008/09 season he secured relegation with the team as 15th in the league. In the summer of 2009 he signed a contract with the Abruzzo club Pescara Calcio . On August 24, 2009 he made his debut for Pescara in the home game against Rimini Calcio , when he did not concede in the 2-0 win over Rimini.

At the end of the 2009/10 season, he was promoted to the second division with Pescara. In the play-off finals, the team prevailed against Hellas Verona .
