Spanish text

Refrain:
Salve, Oh Patria, mil veces!
¡Oh Patria, Gloria a ti! Gloria a ti!
Ya tu pecho, tu pecho, rebosa
Gozo y paz ya tu pecho rebosa;
Y tu frente, tu frente radiosa
Más que el sol contemplamos lucir. (Wh.)

Los primeros, los hijos del suelo,
Que, soberbio, el Pichincha decora,
Te aclamaron por siempre señora
Y vertieron su sangre por ti.
Dios miró y aceptó el holocausto
Y esa sangre fue germen fecundo
De otros héroes que atónito el mundo
Vio en tu torno a millares surgir. (2 × Wh.)

German translation

Refrain:
Hail, oh fatherland, a thousandfold!
O fatherland, glory be to you! Glory to you!
And your chest, your chest overflows with
bliss and peace, your breast overflows;
and on your forehead, your radiant forehead,
we see more than the sun shine. (Wh.)

The first, the sons of the earth,
whom the Pichincha adorns so splendidly,
raised you forever to mistress,
and shed their blood for you.
God saw it and accepted the sacrifice.
And this blood became the fertile germ of
further heroes, who were amazed to see the world
in your vicinity rise by the thousands. (2 × Wh.)
