The 2019/20 season was the 98th edition of the highest Salzburg level. It began on August 2, 2019 and should have ended on June 7, 2020 as planned.
On April 19, 2020, due to the Covid-19 pandemic , it was decided to end all leagues below the 2nd division and to suspend both promotion and relegation this season.
mode
The following mode was planned: 14 teams will take part in the championship of the Salzburg League in the 2019/20 season, with the teams meeting each other twice within one game year. The champions at the end of the season are entitled to promotion to the Regionalliga West, the bottom of the table is relegated.
Due to the effects of Covid-19, however, the season was ended prematurely and the athletic promotion and relegation was suspended.
However, FC Zell am See announced on April 28, 2020 that they would withdraw their fighting team from the league for financial reasons and compete in the 2nd class south / west in the future.
