The Sam Cohen Library is a reference library with around 10,000 books in Swakopmund , Namibia . The library, the Swakopmund Museum and the Otavi train station are supported by the Swakopmund Scientific Society , a non-profit private association. It was donated by Sam Cohen .
The library also houses the well-known Africana collection by Ferdinand Stich . It also has a large number of historical Namibian newspapers .
The associated Sam Cohen archive contains a newspaper collection from 1898 to the present day, a large collection of historical photos, maps and documents from various fields of knowledge. Many of the photos are now digitized and can be viewed. The listed Otavi train station and the OMEG building are located on the library premises .
