Samas was a German company based in Worms that specialized in the manufacture and sale of office furniture and was one of the largest manufacturers of office furniture.

The company includes the brands Martin Stoll , Drabert, progress , MBT (Märkische Möbelwerke Trebbin) and Schärf. Furthermore, the seating furniture from the manufacturer Sitag is traded through Samas. Western and Eastern Europe are the most important markets for the office furniture manufacturer, which generates a large part of its total sales there. In addition to the production site in Worms ( Rhineland-Palatinate ), which is also the company's headquarters, the company operates other production sites in Minden ( North Rhine-Westphalia ) and Trebbin ( Brandenburg ).

history

After the Second World War, the family company Heinrich Schärf & Sohn started again as a carpenter's business in 1949. In 1989 the Schärf OHG was converted to Schaerf AG. In 1991 the Märkische Möbelwerke Trebbin were taken over. The Dutch Samas Group took over Schärf AG with its 51 European companies in 1994. Drabert was taken over in 1990 and Martin Stoll in 1999. In 2001 the company was transformed into Samas Deutschland AG und Co. KG. Berlin-based Christ Capital AG took over the German division of the Dutch office furniture manufacturer Samas in 2009 and continued it under the name Samas GmbH & Co.KG with the brands Drabert, Progress, MBT, Martin Stoll and Schärf. At the beginning of 2010 the company was taken over by the Swedish Kinnarps AB. The Trebbin location was closed.

Samas sales and services

Samas today unites numerous well-known European office furniture brands that have a leading market position in Germany, Switzerland and some Eastern European countries. Companies such as Deutsche Bahn AG , Ernst & Young and T-Com are some examples of well-known customers that the office furniture manufacturer serves.

Samas GmbH & Co. KG has a comprehensive product portfolio that includes complete workplace equipment. The company offers furniture for reception, lounge and waiting areas as well as an enormous range of office and conference chairs, cabinets, containers and partitions.

The distribution takes place via a widely branched distribution network of the company's own shops as well as approx. 800 independent specialist dealers.

Takeover by Kinnarps

According to the press release, Samas GmbH & Co. KG, headquartered in Worms, was taken over by Innovation Change GmbH, Berlin, on July 1, 2009. At the beginning of 2010, the Swedish company Kinnarps acquired the majority of the Samas group. This resulted in Kinnarps Samas GmbH , based in Worms, which has been called Kinnarps GmbH since April 11, 2011 .
