Beck Collection
The Beck Collection (also known as the Beck Pop Collection ) is the art collection of the late Düsseldorf lawyer Heinz Beck .
The collection
The spectrum of works ranges from Joseph Beuys to the Berlin Critical Realists , from Timm Ulrichs to Viennese Actionism , from the Nouveaux Réalistes to Fluxus . The focus of the collection is the original English and American Pop Art , represented by Andy Warhol , Roy Lichtenstein and Richard Hamilton , among others , flanked by their continental European, especially German, variants and equivalents. There is also a focus on prints and the multiples that emerged in the 1960s . After his death in 1988, the collection, comprising around 2,000 pieces, was bequeathed to the Wilhelm Hack Museum in Ludwigshafen am Rhein , where it has since been regularly made available to the general public in exhibitions.
