Giustiniani Collection

The Giustiniani Collection was the art collection of the Italian noble Giustiniani family .

The collection was one of the most important collections of the 16th to 17th centuries. Century. It was especially brought together by the brothers Benedetto (1554–1621) and Vincenzo Giustiniani (1564–1637). It mainly consisted of ancient sculptures and paintings.

In 1815, the Prussian King Friedrich Wilhelm III. 158 pictures from the collection, which became the foundation of the Berlin Gemäldegalerie .
