Samuel Anderson (athlete)

Samuel Anderson ( Samuel Aurelio Anderson Schweyer ; born September 25, 1929 in Matanzas , † August 18, 2012 in Riverview , Hillsborough County , Florida ) was a Cuban hurdler and sprinter .

At the Central American and Caribbean Games in Guatemala City in 1950, he won silver over the 110 m hurdles . In 1951 he won bronze over the 110 m hurdles at the Pan American Games in Buenos Aires with his personal best of 14.2 s and was sixth in the 400 m hurdles .

At the Olympic Games in Helsinki in 1952 he was eliminated from the 110 m hurdles in the preliminary run and reached the semifinals in the 4 x 100 meter relay .

In 1954 he won the 110m hurdles at the Central American and Caribbean Games in Mexico City, and in 1955 he finished fourth in the same discipline at the Pan American Games in Mexico City
