Riverview is a census-designated place (CDP) in Hillsborough County in the US state of Florida with 71,050 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Riverview is located approximately 15 km southwest of Tampa . The CDP is crossed and tangent to by Interstate 75 and US Highway 301 ( SR 43 ).

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the 71,050 inhabitants at that time were distributed over 28,183 households. The population density was 2997.9 inh / km². 70.2% of the population identified themselves as whites, 17.0% as African American , 0.4% as Indians and 3.1% as Asian Americans . 5.2% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 4.0% to several ethnic groups. 21.0% of the population were Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under 18 years of age and 16.8% of all households lived in 45.2% of all households with persons at least 65 years of age. 76.5% of the households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.89 people and the average family size was 3.27 people.

31.6% of the population were younger than 20 years, 28.8% were 20 to 39 years old, 27.8% were 40 to 59 years old, and 12.0% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 34 years. 48.1% of the population were male and 51.9% were female.

The median annual income was $ 65,923, with 11.3% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the first language of 92.38% of the population, 6.90% spoke Spanish and 0.72% had another mother tongue.
