Northdale is a census-designated place (CDP) in Hillsborough County in the US state of Florida with 22,079 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Northdale is approximately 6 miles north of Tampa . Florida State Roads 568 , 589 ( Veterans Expressway , toll) and 597 cross or touch the CDP .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 22,079 inhabitants were distributed over 9,300 households. The population density was 1,077 inhabitants / km². 82.6% of the population identified themselves as white , 6.9% as African-American , 0.2% as Native American and 4.7% as Asian Americans . 2.8% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 2.8% to several ethnic groups. 23.5% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under the age of 18 lived in 33.9% of all households and people aged 65 or over lived in 21.0% of all households. 69.5% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.56 and the average family size was 3.05.

24.9% of the population were younger than 20 years, 25.9% were 20 to 39 years old, 31.6% were 40 to 59 years old, and 17.5% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 40 years. 47.6% of the population were male and 52.4% were female.

The median annual income was $ 60,885, with 10.4% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 82.98% of the population, Spanish spoke 12.49% and 4.53% had another mother tongue.
