Progress Village is a census-designated place (CDP) in Hillsborough County in the US state of Florida with 5392 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Progress Village is located approximately 10 km southeast of Tampa . The CDP is affected by Interstate 75 .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 5392 inhabitants were distributed over 2232 households. The population density was 619.8 inh / km². 37.1% of the population identified themselves as whites , 51.7% as African American , 0.2% as Indians and 4.0% as Asian Americans . 3.6% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 3.5% to several ethnic groups. 14.9% of the population were Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under 18 years of age and 23.2% of all households lived in 39.2% of all households with persons at least 65 years of age. 72.8% of the households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.79 people and the average family size was 3.23 people.

30.1% of the population were younger than 20 years old, 30.6% were 20 to 39 years old, 23.9% were 40 to 59 years old, and 15.3% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 34 years. 47.8% of the population were male and 52.2% were female.

In 2000, English was the first language of 97.52% of the population and 2.48% spoke Spanish .
