Palm River-Clair Mel is a census-designated place (CDP) in Hillsborough County in the US state of Florida with 21,024 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Palm River-Clair Mel borders Tampa in the northwest . Interstate 75 , US Highways 41 and 301 ( SR 43 ) as well as Florida State Roads 60 and 618 ( Lee Roy Selmon Expressway , toll road) cross or touch the CDP .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the 21,024 inhabitants at that time were distributed over 7,915 households. The population density was 693.9 inh / km². 54.6% of the population identified themselves as whites , 30.1% as African American , 0.4% as Indians and 2.2% as Asian Americans . 9.1% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 3.7% to several ethnic groups. 39.1% of the population were Hispanics or Latinos .
