Palm River-Clair Mel borders Tampa in the northwest . Interstate 75 , US Highways 41 and 301 ( SR 43 ) as well as Florida State Roads 60 and 618 ( Lee Roy Selmon Expressway , toll road) cross or touch the CDP .

According to the 2010 census, the 21,024 inhabitants at that time were distributed over 7,915 households.
