Lake Magdalene is a census-designated place (CDP) in Hillsborough County in the US state of Florida with a population of 28,509 (as of 2010).

Lake Magdalene borders Tampa to the south . Interstate 275 , US Highway 41 and Florida State Roads 579 , 582 , 597 and 685 cross or touch the CDP .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 28,509 inhabitants were distributed over 13,387 households. The population density was 1040.5 inh / km². 82.8% of the population identified themselves as whites, 7.7% as African American , 0.3% as Indians and 2.8% as Asian Americans . 3.6% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 3.0% to several ethnic groups. 21.1% of the population were Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010, children under the age of 18 lived in 26.0% of all households and persons aged 65 or over lived in 27.1% of all households. 60.3% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.30 people and the average family size was 2.89 people.

21.3% of the population were younger than 20 years, 23.5% were 20 to 39 years old, 31.1% were 40 to 59 years old, and 24.1% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 44 years. 47.5% of the population were male and 52.5% were female.

The median annual income was $ 48,940, with 13.1% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the first language of 86.12% of the population, 10.93% spoke Spanish and 2.95% spoke another language.
