Apollo Beach is a census-designated place (CDP) in Hillsborough County in the US state of Florida with 14,055 inhabitants (as of 2010).

geography

Apollo Beach is located in southern Florida on Tampa Bay and about 25 km south of Tampa . Apollo Beach is very close to Interstate 75, which runs in north-south direction, and is traversed by the Tamiami Trail ( US 41 ). The place can be reached via Tampa International Airport , which is around 40 km away.

climate

The climate is mild and warm, light with a light wind from the sea. Statistically, it rains an average of 40% of the days in the summer months, even if only for a short time. The highest temperatures are in May to October, with up to 33 ° C. The coldest months from December to February with an average of only 12 ° C. Snowfall is almost unknown in the region.

Religions

In 2010 children under the age of 18 lived in 29.4% of all households and persons aged 65 or over lived in 27.2% of all households. 74.4% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.46 people and the average family size was 2.81 people.

22.6% of the population were younger than 20 years, 22.0% were 20 to 39 years old, 31.4% were 40 to 59 years old, and 24.0% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 44 years. 49.3% of the population were male and 50.7% were female.

The median annual income was $ 68,368, with 6.3% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the first language of 87.48% of the population, 10.75% spoke Spanish and 1.77% had another mother tongue.
