Carrollwood is a census-designated place (CDP) in Hillsborough County in the US state of Florida with 33,365 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Carrollwood is directly adjacent to Tampa in the southeast . Florida State Roads 580 and 597 cross or touch the CDP .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 33,365 inhabitants were distributed over 15,510 households. The population density was 1345.4 inh / km². 80.8% of the population identified themselves as whites, 7.8% as African American , 0.2% as Indians and 3.8% as Asian Americans . 4.0% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 3.3% to several ethnic groups. 27.4% of the population were Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under 18 years of age and 24.9% of all households lived in 29.1% of all households with persons at least 65 years of age. 63.3% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.36 people and the average family size was 2.93 people.

22.9% of the population were younger than 20 years, 25.2% were 20 to 39 years old, 31.1% were 40 to 59 years old, and 20.7% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 41 years. 47.4% of the population were male and 52.6% were female.

The median annual income was $ 55,869, with 11.2% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 78.22% of the population, 16.56% spoke Spanish and 5.22% had another mother tongue.
