Temple Terrace is a city in Hillsborough County in the US state of Florida with 24,541 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Temple Terrace borders directly on the city of Tampa near the west coast of Florida and forms an urban space with it.

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 24,541 inhabitants were distributed over 11,296 households. The population density was 1378.7 inh / km². 68.0% of the population identified themselves as whites, 19.5% as African-Americans , 0.4% as Indians and 5.5% as Asian Americans . 3.4% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 3.2% to several ethnic groups. 14.7% of the population were Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under the age of 18 lived in 27.9% of all households and people aged 65 or over lived in 21.8% of all households. 59.5% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.39 people and the average family size was 2.95 people.

23.5% of the population were younger than 20 years, 34.1% were 20 to 39 years old, 24.8% were 40 to 59 years old, and 17.6% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 33 years. 47.8% of the population were male and 52.2% were female.

The median annual income was $ 47,998, with 13.0% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 85.42% of the population, 10.80% spoke Spanish and 3.78% had another mother tongue.

On October 30, 2012, the Temple Terrace Golf Course was inscribed on the National Register of Historic Places .

Temple Terrace is affected by Interstate 75 and crossed by Florida State Roads 580 , 582 and 583 . The Tampa airport is located about 25 km southwest.

The crime rate in 2010 was 328 points (US average: 266 points) in the average range. There were five rapes, 36 robberies, 70 assaults, 277 break-ins, 535 thefts, 31 car thefts and three arson attacks.
