Samuel Déglon

Samuel Déglon (born October 9, 1801 in Curtilles ; † January 28, 1872 there ) was a Swiss politician . From 1855 to 1862 he was a member of the National Council.

biography

The son of a teacher lived in Curtilles as a humble farmer , where he also led a small religious faction. From 1830 he worked as a clerk at the Peace Court in Lucens , from 1846 to 1870 he presided over the District Court of the Moudon District . In the army of the canton of Vaud from 1841 he had the rank of major in the infantry.

Déglon represented radical liberal views. In 1845 he was elected to the Vaudois Grand Council , of which he was a member for six years. He ran in October 1855 in a by-election in the National Council constituency Waadt-Nord and succeeded Abram-Daniel Meystre . In 1857 and 1860 he was re-elected and in 1862 he resigned prematurely.
