Samuel Nakielski

Samuel Nakielski (secular name Andrzej , * 1584 in Lelow, Lesser Poland , † 1651 ) was a canon and priest in Poland .

Life

Samuel Nakielski came from a noble family in Lesser Poland. From a young age he studied poetry, philosophy, rhetoric and history. He studied at the Academy in Cracow and obtained a Baccalaureus at the age of 18 . At the age of 27 he joined the Order of Canons of the Holy Sepulcher in Miechów and became chaplain in Gniezno the following year . At the age of 33, Samuel Nakielski became provost of St Hedwig's Church in Krakow.

In 1626 Nakielski traveled to Rome , where he received his doctorate in theology. He visited various Italian cities such as Ferrara and Bologna and drove through Carinthia , Styria , Moravia and Silesia . He died in 1651.

Samuel Nakielski has written two books on the history of the Order of Canons of the Holy Sepulcher and their most important monastery in Poland, in Miechów .
