Samuel Steurlin

Samuel Steurlin , also Steuerlin, Steuerlein , (born September 14, 1655 in Meiningen , † March 30, 1725 in Schleusingen ) was a German physician and scientist.

Life

Samuel Steurlin worked in Schleusingen in the county of Henneberg , where he was an urban and rural physicist. Steuerlin his doctorate in 1682 at the University of Altdorf to Dr. med. and wrote several medical and scientific papers.

In 1709 he suggested the establishment of a spa at Wilhelmsbrunnen near Schleusingen.

On December 9, 1713 he took over the presidency of the Society of Christian Love and Science .

Honors

On March 16, 1707, Samuel Steuerlin with the academic surname Agrius was accepted as a member ( matriculation no. 272 ) in the Leopoldina .
