The Roman Catholic Church of San Claudio de Olivares in Zamora , the capital of the province of the same name in the autonomous region of Castile-León in Spain , was built at the beginning of the 12th century . The Romanesque church, located in the Barrio de Olivares ( Olivares district), has been a protected architectural monument ( Bien de Interés Cultural ) since 1931 .

The St. Claudius consecrated Church is the oldest Romanesque church in Zamora. The single-nave building with a semicircular choir has ten remarkable capitals from the 12th century with depictions of centaurs , Heracles fighting the lion and other motifs.

The portal with its three archivolts shows the work in the course of the year in the inner arch. Animals and plants are depicted in the other arches.
