San Fruttuoso (in Ligurian : San Frûttoso ) is a district of the northern Italian port city of Genoa . It is located in the lower Val Bisagno , between the Marassi districts in the north, San Martino in the east, and Foce and Albaro in the south. A short section from San Fruttuoso also borders the Genoese residential area of Castelletto .

Together with Marassi and Quezzi , San Fruttuoso belongs to the Munizip III Bassa Valbisagno . In addition to the actual San Fruttuoso, the district of Sant'Agata also belongs to the district. The total population is 36,347, including 26,794 in San Fruttuoso and 9553 in Sant'Agata.

Under the name of San Fruttuoso d'Albaro, the district was independent from Genoa until 1873. Together with five other communities in the lower Val Bisagno, it was finally incorporated into the port city. After the incorporation , the small, rural community in front of the city gates of Genoa developed into a semi-central residential area in the 1990s.

The name of the district comes from a church and the associated monastery from 1130. Both structures no longer exist today. The district was previously known as Terralba.
