San Gioacchino ai Prati di Castello

San Gioacchino ai Prati di Castello ( Latin : Sancti Ioachimi ) is a church in Rome . It is the parish church of the same parish in Rome's XXII. Prati .

Pope John XXIII elevated the church to the title church on March 12, 1960 with the Apostolic Constitution Ad Romanorum Pontificum .

history

San Gioacchino ai Prati was founded in 1888 for the 50th jubilee of Pope Leo XIII. donated and built by Raffaele Ingame for the new Prati di Castello district . The foundation stone was laid on October 1, 1891; the inauguration of the crypt and lower church took place in 1892 and the use of the upper church from August 20, 1898. Since August 27, 1898, the parish has been administered by the Redemptorist Order .

On June 1, 1905, the church became the parish church of the Parrocchiale di San Gioacchino ai Prati di Castello . On June 6, 1911, the official consecration took place by Cardinal Pietro Respighi . Connected to the church is the College of S. Gioacchino ai Prati di Castello , the novice house of the Redemptorists of the Roman province.
