San Giuseppe all'Aurelio (Latin Sancti Iosephi in region Aurelia ) is a titular church of the Roman Catholic Church in Rome .

Parish

The parish was established on June 19, 1961 by Cardinal Vicar Clemente Micara with the decree Quotidianis Curis and entrusted to the Order of the Oblates of St. Joseph . It is named after St. Giuseppe Marello , the founder of the Oblates of St. Joseph. Since June 26, 1991, it has been a titular church of the Roman Catholic Church.

Church building

Architects were Ildo Avetta and Giulio Sciascia. The planning and execution of the new building lasted from 1960 to the inauguration in 1970. The tuff stone facade is divided into three parts and shows a pilaster in cement. The entrance is bordered by a ceramic spire depicting St. Joseph with the child and angels.

The interior has a main part with side aisles. The apse shows a tapestry with Saint Joseph with the child, a restoration work of a tapestry made in 1915 from the Vatican. A ceramic Way of the Cross was made by Vasco Nasorri in 1986. A side altar depicting the Lord's Supper was erected in 1981.

The church is located at Via Giuseppe Marello, 5 / Via Boccea 362 in the Primavalle quarter of the Roman district of QQ XXIII Aurelio e Primavalle .
