Sander Mallien

Sander Frederik Mallien (* 1958 ) is a Swiss politician in the canton of Aargau ; he sits for the Green Liberal Party (GLP) in the Grand Council .

biography

Mallien is a citizen of Saanen and a local citizen of Baden. After graduating as a commercial lawyer, Mallien completed a post-graduate master’s degree in corporate finance. He worked as a managing director in the private sector with managerial and budget responsibility, including for international banks and (re) insurance companies . Today Mallien is a full-time member of the board of directors.

He devotes part of his productive time to charitable organizations and institutions. From 2008 to 2019 he chaired Spitex Baden-Ennetbaden and was also involved in the Vortsand of the Spitex Association Aargau for 9 years. Mallien has been President of the Spitex Limmat Aare Reuss Foundation since April 2019. He also worked as a part-time judge at the district court from May 2009 to April 2013; an office that he had to resign due to incompatibility after his election to the Grand Council.

From 2004 to 2013 Mallien was a member of the Board of Trustees of Green Cross Switzerland , including 6 years as President, until his statutory resignation after three terms of office. Mallien, who was on the board of directors of Green Cross International from 2009 to 2016, was treasurer of the NGO founded by Mikhail Gorbachev .

Mallien is a passionate ocean sailor.

Sander Mallien's core political issues include economic policy, environmental and energy issues, health and education. In 2009 Mallien founded the green liberal party Baden, which he represents in the Baden city parliament, from January 1, 2010 to May 1, 2018 as parliamentary leader, in 2018 and 2019 as parliamentary vice-president. as well as as President of Parliament in 2020 and 2021. Mallien has also been a member of the Aargau cantonal parliament since 2013 and is a member of the Commission for Planning and Finances (KAPF) and the Health and Social Affairs Commission (GSW). Sander Mallien also represents the canton of Aargau in the committee of the Interparliamentary Conference of Northwestern Switzerland (IPK NWCH); 2018 + 2019 as President of the IPK NWCH.
