life and career
The Scot Sandi Thom became known through a special campaign. The beginning of 2006 she played daily for three weeks in her apartment in London's district Tooting , the performances recorded and transferred them to the Internet. These 21 Nights from Tooting were picked up by the press and quickly popularized.
A large record company then signed her and released her debut single, I Wish I Was a Punk Rocker (With Flowers in My Hair) . The single became a huge success internationally. In addition to number 1 in Great Britain , Ireland and Australia , it also reached the top 10 in Sweden , France and New Zealand . The following debut album Smile ... It Confuses People also topped the charts in their home country and sold over 700,000 times worldwide. The second single What If I'm Right was only noticed in English-speaking countries. Her second album The Pink & the Lily (a reference to Lily the Pink ) was released two years later. The song The Devil's Beat was a minor success, but the album flopped. The following album Merchants and Thieves (2010) did not hit the charts.
In 2012 Thom was in a relationship with the American blues guitarist and vocal colleague Joe Bonamassa . She has been married to model Matt Benson since 2015 and gave birth to their son, Logan, in March 2016.
