The Sandugu Bolong is a river in the West African states of Senegal and Gambia . In Senegal he is known as Sandougou . The name Sami Bolong (another spelling Sani Bolong ) is also used. As Sandougou, it is the longest tributary of the Gambia .

geography

The Sandougou rises northeast of the regional prefecture Tambacounda in the East Senegalese region of Tambacounda . The river flows for a length of about 240 kilometers in a southwest-west direction until it flows into the Gambia River with a width of about 65 meters .

The addition Bolong , which has many tributaries of the Gambia, means "moving water" or "tributary" in the Mandinka language .
