Sandra Cinto

Sandra Regina Cinto (* 1968 in Santo André , São Paulo ) is a Brazilian sculptor , painter , draftsman and installation artist .

life and work

In 1990, Cinto completed her artistic training at the Faculdades Integradas Teresa D'Ávila - Fatea in Santo André. She then worked in the Laboratory for Study and Design of the Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo and in the Museu de Arte Contemporânea da Universidade de São Paulo . In 1998 she took part in the 24th São Paulo Biennale . She received a grant from the Cité Internationale des Arts, Paris in 2000 and a grant from the Civitella Ranieri Foundation in 2005 . In 2002 she created the trophy for the Prêmio Multicultural Estadão (Multicultural Prize of the Grupo Estado in São Paulo). Her many public projects and commissions in 2012 included: One Day, After the Rain on behalf of The Phillips Collection in Washington, DC; 2012 to 2014: Encounter of the Waters in the Olympic Park Pavilion of the Seattle Art Museum; 2013: The House of Fountains, an installation for the Sertanista's house in Sao Paulo; 2012 Public Sculptures in the Estoril-Virgilio Simionatto Urban Ecological Park in São Bernardo do Campo , Brazil; and 2011 Japonism in the swimming pool in Santo André, Brazil. Her work has been exhibited in museums and institutions around the world since 1990, including important solo exhibitions in 2014 at the CAAM Centro Atlántico de Arte Moderno in Madrid and the Oscar Niemeyer Museum in Curitiba, Brazil; 2007 at the MACUF Museum of Contemporary Art Union Fenosa in La Coruña , Spain; 2003: Wall project in the São Paulo Museum of Modern Art and Museum of Art of Pampulha , Belo Horizonte .
