Sandra Horn

Sandra Horn (born September 26, 1971 in Witten ) is a German jazz musician ( trumpet , composition ).

Live and act

Horn came to the trumpet through her father, who played in a church trombone choir. She received trumpet lessons at the music schools in Wengern and Dortmund before she studied sports science at the Ruhr University Bochum and subsequently instrumental pedagogy with a major in trumpet with Helmut Riester at the Detmold University of Music . Then she worked as a theater musician. She also became a member of the United Women's Orchestra , with which she presented three albums and performed nationally. She also belonged to the salsa band Jazminas ( Corazon Cubana ). Together with the trumpeter Guido Wellers she formed the Wellerhorns ; with Weller and the organist Klaus Stehling, she presented the CD music for two trumpets and organ from the Bestwig monastery . She is currently a permanent member of the Ruhrgebeat Rock Orchestra , with which she also tours nationwide , the Jazzpoeten XXL and the big band LBB-NRW .

Horn also conducts the TripleB Big Band Bergkamen and the Bergkamen Trombone Choir; she also teaches at the Geschwister-Scholl-Gesamtschule Lünen .
