Oberufhausen

The village of Oberufhausen belongs to the Hessian market town of Eiterfeld in the northern part of the Fulda district .

Oberufhausen extends southwest of the 630 meter high Soisberg on the river Sauer .

history

The place is first mentioned as "Ufhusen" in an interest register of the Fulda monastery from around 1015 . In 1332 the village was called Oberufhausen to distinguish it from Unterufhausen, which is about a kilometer away . There were two castles in Oberufhausen.

Ufhausen was created on April 1, 1958 through the merger of the larger municipality of Oberufhausen with the smaller Unterufhausen. On August 1, 1972, the community Ufhausen came to Eiterfeld.
