Sandro Gaycken (born November 30, 1973 in Cologne ) is a German technology philosopher and cyberwar expert.

Life

According to his own statements, Gaycken earned an MA in philosophy and physics from the Humboldt University in Berlin . In 2008 he did his doctorate with the philosopher of science Martin Carrier at the Institute for Science and Technology Research at Bielefeld University with the thesis Technical Knowledge - Philosophical Investigations , which was available for purchase under the title Technical Knowledge: Thinking in the Service of Action .

Gaycken, a former Chaos Computer Club activist , describes himself as a military cyber theorist and is director of the Digital Society Institute at the European School of Management and Technology . He advises the German government and NATO on IT , cyber warfare and confidentiality issues .
