Sangay Ngedup (born July 1, 1953 in Nobgang ) is a Bhutanese politician.

Ngedup was born in Nobgang ( Punakha District ) in 1953 as the second eldest son. He has two brothers and five sisters, four of whom are the wives of former Bhutanese King Jigme Singye Wangchuck . After his training in India , he went to the Bhutanese service abroad in 1976 and completed diplomatic courses in Australia and New Delhi . In 1977 he worked for the UN Representation of Bhutan in New York and in 1986 became secretary in the Bhutanese embassy in New Delhi. In 1989 he became ambassador to Kuwait . In the same year he was recalled and became commercial and industrial director. In April 1991 he became Assistant Secretary of the Planning Commission. He became Director General of the Health Service in 1992 and Secretary of Health in 1994. In 1995 he became secretary in the Ministry of Health and Education. From 1996 to 1997 he was Chairman of the Executive Council of the WHO . In 1998, Ngedup was elected Minister of Health and Education. From July 9, 1999 to July 20, 2000 he was Prime Minister of Bhutan. From 2003 to 2007 Ngedup was Minister of Agriculture. From September 5, 2005 to September 7, 2006, he was reappointed Prime Minister.

Sangay Ngedup is chairman of the People's Democratic Party (PDP).
