Sant'Antonio da Padova in Via Merulana , also Sant'Antonio da Padova all'Esquilino , lat .: S. Antonii Patavini de Urbe is a church in Rome .

The church, built by the Franciscan Order from 1884, was consecrated to Saint Anthony of Padua on December 18, 1888 . In 1931 he was appointed Basilica minor and on March 12, 1960, the elevation by Pope John XXIII. to the title church of the Roman Catholic Church .

The church was planned by the architect Luca Carimini and has two staircases on the entrance side to a hall with a statue of Antonius with the baby Jesus. In the three-aisled church, separated by a colonnade made of pink granite, there are side chapels and a gallery.

In the outbuildings the Pontifical University Antonianum , the Religious College of the Franciscans (OFM) have their headquarters, as well as the International Marian Pontifical Academy , the Collegio Internazionale S. Antonio (CISA) and the Fraternità Gabriele Allegra .

The church is located in the Esquilino district (XV. Rione) in Via Merulana , which connects the two basilicas of Santa Maria Maggiore and San Giovanni in Laterano . It is a branch church of Santi Marcellino e Pietro al Laterano .
