Sant Climent de Coll de Nargó is a church in the town of Coll de Nargó , in the Alt Urgell region . It was placed under National Monument Protection on April 5, 1946 on the basis of an application by the Catalan architect and art historian Josep Puig i Cadafalch .

description

The parish church, dedicated to St. Clement , near the first houses in the village of Coll Nargó, is surrounded by the cemetery wall. The current building was built in the late 11th and early 12th centuries on the site of an earlier church, of which the bell tower and other traces to the south have been preserved.

The architecture is Romanesque - Lombard style, with a single nave supported by a barrel vault supported by arches. The floor of the apse is about 50 cm higher than that of the nave. On the outside of the apse there is a frieze decorated with blind arches and pilasters . The main entrance is in the west, a second entrance in the south.

The bell tower is a Romanesque building from the 10th century at the earliest. It has a rectangular base and up to three-quarters of its height inclined walls like a truncated pyramid. Above the tip of the truncated pyramid there is a horseshoe-shaped window on each side and above each a window with two columns and three round arches.
