Santa Bárbara Sistemas is a Spanish arms company based in Madrid . The company has been a subsidiary of the US group General Dynamics since 2001 and employs around 2,300 people.
history
Santa Bárbara Sistemas was founded in 1960 as an association of several state armaments companies. As property of the Spanish holding company INI (from 1995 SEPI ) they produced ammunition, assault rifles , light machine guns and various armored vehicles for the Spanish army . In 2001, Santa Bárbara was finally privatized. The US group General Dynamics , the Santa Bárbara again in "General Dynamics European Land Systems" , based in Madrid , and also the Swiss Mowag , the armaments division of the former Eisenwerke Kaiserslautern and the Austrian Steyr-Daimler-Puch Special vehicle include, incorporated.
